Ending
Even though the season is ending I was searching through youtube and found this awesome video of these guys hitting these sik rails and jumps. My favorite is the part right around second 49 when the rider hits all of those rails lined up in a row. This clip just makes me wish it was november and we were getting our first snow again......VQUZESHUF
Keep it Green
I was sitting in my Operations Management class the over day and we were doing our final presentations on our projects. Then the topic came up about recycling and how major corporations are trying to "Keep Things Green". They want to keep their costs down and recycling will help them do this. But they also have a social responsibility to the environment and instead of keep using resources over and over, reuse and recycle so we can save the environment.
I know this is a little off topic but I think that is a great thing for people and corporations especially to recycle. This conversation reminded me of my last snowboarding trip to Truckee, California. While I was out there I kept seeing signs for "Keep California Green" and I never really knew what they meant. I just thought that they had to do with picking up your trash and not to litter in the beautiful mountains of California. But I remember snowboarding at North Star and their one terrain park which was called "The Stash" which is made out of all wood. Usually in typical terrain parks, jumps and rails are made out of metal or concrete but in this unique one they built it out of huge red oaks. Check out this photo on the North Star website. He has some awesome shots of two surfers taking this left down in North Carolina. His photos on his site are really professional and awesome to check out. So dont be a stranger....check it out.

Arbor
In addition to my last post about skateboards. I found this awesome skateboard by one of my favorite companies that I think is underestimated and I think if they got into the main stream a little more and sponsored some big riders their company would be right up there with Burton and Forum. check it out. offseason
ok so the snowboarding is coming to a quick end unless you live out in california like my brother where they snowboard all year round (which is pretty ridiculous). One thing I like to do in the offseason is to keep up on my skateboarding because it helps keeping your heelside and toeside turns sharp, so to all you snowboarders out there, keep your skills sharp so you can shred it up in the 09 season.
Promotion
I had a presentation during my marketing class and I found these two interesting sites on the topic. The first one is the first website I found on google when I typed in the topic. www.promotions.com. It talks about the basics of promotion and marketing and also talks about the companies that they personally work with. The second article I found is a website called attack! marketing and promotion. It is a communications agency that gives clients full range of strategy for their company. Check it out. ATTACK
Off topic
A little off topic but I was looking on the blob called Attention Max and I saw on his site that he had some really cool things on his blog. He has this thing called Meebo which is when he is on the blog people can send him live comments and talk to him just like it was AIM. I think this is a cool innovation for blogs because it can get the readers feedback directly and they do not have to leave comments on the blog but can talk to the author behind it. Check out the blog. VQUZESHUF

Sikk Darkslide
Check out this awesome trick that I found online. It is pretty awesome. A snowboarder goes off of a jump and does a darkslide. A darkslide is a skateboarding trick when going up on a rail they flip the board over and grind the top part of it. Of course with snowboard there feet are strapped in so this boarder was a little innovative. Check it out. VQUZESHUF

Jacket of the Month..
The jacket of the month has appeared on Burton's rider Kevin Pearce who had a great showing this year at the X-games. It is a multi colored jacket that matches the bottom of Pearce's board. The announcers and some of his fellow riders did not think much of Pearce's jacket before his run. Once he hit the super pipe and was busting some major air everyone saw that his jacket did match the bottom of the board. After his run everyone took a different look at Pearce because of his performance and this is why his jacket makes the "Jacket of the Month".

Snowboarding
Snowboarding is a extreme winter sport where a person is attached to a board. It is inspired by surfing and skateboarding. There are four main areas of competition:
1. Boarder cross - where four boarders race down the mountain.
2. Slope style - a boarder goes through a terrain park full of jumps and all different kinds of hits and depending on how they do is how well there score is.
3. Half pipe - a carved half pipe into the mountain (similar to skateboarding) where the boarder will go down and jump out of the pipe and perform tricks.
4. Racing - Boarders go down a mountain cutting through gates to get the best time.
